Rasp Residence

Located in the hills of Bedford, Pennsylvania, this quaint home contains many interesting wonders. The home draws no electricity from the surrounding community. Instead, its sole source of electrical energy comes from a windmill, located outside. This not only limits the amount of wires leading to the home but in doing so, it allows for a more aesthetic feel to the home and the surrounding area. Heating comes from a soapstone stove, within the house. The ability to make quality usage of this heating is made possible by the efficient layout of the home. Heat makes its way through the home, smoothly and provides a comfortable temperature level that can enhance the lovely view to the outside. As you sit in this comfort, looking on to the view, it's worthwhile to note the hand-placed tongue and groove ceilings adorning the inside. Subtle accents such as these enhance the quality of the home even further.

Not far from the home is the former location of the famous S.S. Grand View Ship Hotel. As a matter of fact, when looking across the scenic landscape from where the Grand View once stood, the Rasp Residence can clearly be seen nestled in its hillside home. The home has become one more lovely edition to be seen from the famous Lincoln Highway.
